While the same artist might be good at both voice recording and dubbing – every artist would agree that getting the lip sync while dubbing a video module is an art – and requires patience, precision and deft on the part of both artist, recording technician and the director.

Let us consider a training module or probably a documentary that is originally in English and needs to be dubbed into Hindi. Now, first things first – the audio would need to be transcribed and then translated to Hindi. While recording the translated Hindi audio, the dubbing artist and the recordists must ensure that the length of Hindi dialogue almost matches that of the English dialogue so that near 99% lip sync is possible.
